The new ACTOR DX is a self-contained, active high-tech PA system which makes use of innovative digital technologies to achieve a level of performance that previously was not thought possible.

56-Bit Processing Power and Top-Flight Components
In the ACTOR DX system, high-end components like the 1.4" B&C driver and the PWM digital power amplifiers with their excellent transient response are combined with a new kind of controller that uses its 56-bit signal processor to provide detailed dynamic compensation of typical loudspeaker colorations.

Innovative DDO™ Controller
Every loudspeaker has a specific sonic character. Like an instrument, its timbre will change with load, it will produce distortion, harmonics, resonances—in short, its total response is constantly changing. And in a system in which several loudspeakers are operating together, these undesirable effects are compounded. This is the point at which the DDO™ technology (Digital Dynamics Optimisation) of the new ACTOR DX system comes into play. Based on extensive experience gathered with the HK AUDIO DFC Digital Field Controller, our engineers have developed an extremely powerful controller for the ACTOR DX which is capable of compensating for these dynamic deviations from the ideal response. The final result is a breathtakingly natural and forceful sound that remains stable and eminently manageable all the way from whisper soft to raging loud. To accommodate several common scenarios and simplify the management of different configurations, the DDO™ controller comes pre-equipped with 8 presets.

HK AUDIO® Sound-Know-How
One thing our experience has taught us clearly is this: a digital controller cannot magically transform inferior components into a prized system. Following this philosophy, every loudspeaker cabinet in the ACTOR DX system has been designed to produce state-of-the-art results without a controller. The subsequent additon of the DDO™ controller then serves to bring that which is already very good that much closer to perfection, thereby producing previously unobtainable sonic results.
